Kinesiology | Elementary Ed./Early Childhood | Secondary Ed.

General Guidelines for Scheduling (all majors):
You must carry 12 or more hours of credit in a regular semester (Fall or Spring) and six or more hours in a summer semester in order to be classified as a full-time student.

Kinesiology Majors:
English Composition: Kinesiology majors are required to take English 1001.

Math: Kinesiology majors are required to take Math 1021 (College Algebra) and Math 1022 (Plane Trigonometry). If your placement test results indicate that you received credit for Math 1021, you may schedule Math 1022. If you placed into Math 1021 or Math 1029, you must schedule Math 1021. If you placed into Math 0092 or Math 1029, you must talk to an advisor about your options.

Science: It is suggested that Kinesiology majors schedule the following Biology sequence during the first semester of college study: Biology 1201 (Biology for Science Majors I) and Biology 1208 (Biology Laboratory for Science Majors I). You are eligible to take Biology 1201 and 1208 if your ACT composite is 23 or above. If your ACT composite is below 23, you may take Biology 1201 after you earn a “C” or better in Chemistry 1201.

If you have received credit for Math 1021, you may schedule Math 1100. If you placed into Math 0092 or Math 1029, you must talk to an advisor about your options. You are encouraged to enroll in the sections of Math 1021 and 1100 that are reserved for Education majors. In order to do so, you must complete an add-form (provided at orientation).

Science: Elementary Education majors are required to take Biology 1001 (General Biology I), Biology 1002 (General Biology II), and Biology 1005 (Introductory Biology Laboratory) during the four-year degree program. An additional General Education Science elective and Physical Science 1021 or 1022 are also required.
