2008-2009 Initiatives

University Terrace Elementary School Playground Project

• PDK 0049 will donate $1,000 toward this LSU service-learning project to design, develop and build a state-of-the-art playground. The total cost of the project is between $30,000 and $50,000.

Speaker Series

• PDK 0049 will sponsor the LSU College of Education Centennial Speaker Public Forum.  Dr. Janet Miller, from Teachers College, Columbia University, will be presenting. The presentation will be advertised and open to the public and will be held in the U-High Auditorium.
• The Chapter will pursue providing funding every year for a  public speaker.

Student Scholarships

• The Chapter will offer two $500 scholarships to students during their student teaching semester.
