Creating Safe Schools: Safe Space Workshop for College of Education Students

The College of Education Office of Field Experiences and the LSU Office of Muticultural Affairs organized a half-day workshop in Safe Space training for its pre-service and in-service teacher candidates.

The day conisted of a personal quiz to rate individuals on their perceptions and attitudes towards gay, bisexual, lesbian, and transgender individuals followed by a panel discussion lead by students active in diverse organizations on campus.

Candace Creecy, a College of Education graduate student and the graduate assistant for cross-cultural affairs and the Safe Space Campaign, served as the facilitator for the event.
