MacGregor Recognized for Outstanding Contributions to Service-Learning Research

Current TIAA-CREF Service-Learning Research Fellow and College of Education Associate Professor S. Kim MacGregor (pictured above left, with Center for Community Engagement, Learning & Leadership Director Jan Shoemaker) received the Award for Outstanding Contributions to Service-Learning Research at the Gulf-South Summit Conference in March 2007.

MacGregor’s research focuses on the assessment of academic programs particularly on programs in higher education aimed toward integrating service-learning experiences into course content. Through a series of papers, MacGregor’s research reflects a commitment to developing deeper understanding of how the service-learning experience can be maximized and how the partnership between the community and the academy can be strengthened.
