
Lab School Foundation Celebrates Cubs 2007The University Laboratory School Foundation hosted its seventh annual alumni recognition event, Cubs 2007, on March 17 at the City Club of Baton Rouge. More than 150 guests gathered to celebrate with U-High graduates Margery “Tyke” Johnson Olinde ‘45 and Dr. James M. Vick ‘60 as they were inducted into the Alumni Hall of Distinction and Oliver Brown ‘83 and Dr. Andrew Roberts ‘87 as they were inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. Olinde was recognized for her extraordinary community service and Dr. Vick for over 35 years of excellence in instruction and administration at the University of Texas at Austin. Brown, an engineer, was recognized for his numerous athletic accomplishments in basketball, including high school state tournament MVP and Louisiana State Player of the Year honors and playing on LSU’s 1986 Final Four Team. Dr. Roberts was a five time, five event, swim champion in high school and instrumental in organizing the first U-High swim team; he was also a national champion and Olympic contender. |
