
LSU Certified Athletic Trainer Receives National Athletic Trainer Service Award Department of Kinesiology Assistant Professor Ray Castle, ATC (pictured above), has been selected as one of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association’s 2007 Athletic Trainer Service Award (ATSA) recipients. This award recognizes outstanding service to the athletic training profession and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association at the state and district level. Candidates for the award must have held the Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) credential conferred by the Board of Certification for at least 15 years. Castle is one of 27 recipients of the award this year. “Dedication, innovation, loyalty, and leadership are common traits among ATSA recipients,” said National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Executive Director Eve Becker-Doyle, CAE. “Those who receive the honor serve as an inspiration to their peers and as role models to the next generation of certified athletic trainers.” “Ray Castle is richly deserving of the award,” said NATA Honors & Awards Committee Chair Rochel Rittgers, ATC. “He has dedicated his career to the betterment of the athletic training profession.” The ATSA presented Castle with the award on June 28, 2007, at NATA’s 58th Annual Meeting & Clinical Symposia in Anaheim, California. |
