Student Teacher Wins Two Scholarships

Jacqueline Spencer, PK-3 student teacher, has received the Associated Professional Educators of Louisiana (A+PEL) Student Teacher Scholarship and the Lil and Roy Murphy Scholarship from the Louisiana Early Childhood Association (LAECA).

The A+PEL Student Teacher Scholarship is a $500 award given to an outstanding undergraduate student in child development or early childhood education who must demonstrate scholarship, professionalism, character, purpose, and leadership.

The Lil and Roy Murphy Scholarship is a $500 award presented on the basis of the student’s career goals as an educator, academic record, and accomplishments, including community involvement.
