Alumni Win Teaching Awards

West Feliciana Parish teacher Whitney Whealdon was named Louisiana Middle School Teacher of the Year. Whealdon received a bachelor’s in 2001 and an M.Ed. in 2002 in secondary education. West Feliciana Parish teacher Ben Necaise (M.Ed. 2007) was also a regional winner.

Michelle Roy, (B.A. 1987) was named High School Teacher of the Year. Roy teaches at the Louisiana School for Agriculture Science in Avoyelles Parish.

Anne Robichaux (M.A. 2002 ) was honored as the Iberville Parish and Region VI State Teacher of the Year. Also, Susan Snowbarger (B.S. 2000; M.A. 2004), a doctoral student, was named the East Baton Rouge High School Teacher of the Year.
