The Louisiana State University Laboratory School celebrated the opening of its new Elementary Building with a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 8, 2006. Featuring an elementary media center, the new 12 classroom elementary building expanded enrollment by 300 additional children. The presentation included speakers and dignitaries such as Mayor Kip Holden, LSU Chancellor Sean O’Keefe, College of Education Dean M. Jayne Fleener and University Laboratory School Director Wade Smith. Chaired by University Laboratory School parent Diana Mann, the grand opening festivities welcomed parents, grandparents, faculty, alumni and friends.
