College of Education Professor Speaks in Korea
Department of Educational Theory, Policy, and Practice Professor David Kirshner (pictured far right) was invited to speak at The Korea Society of Mathematical Education (KSME) annual meeting on October 13 and 14, 2006. The meeting discussed curriculum and teaching/learning materials and took place at the Kyungsang National University in Korea. Kirshner spoke about a new curriculum for the teaching of elementary algebra. Kirshner developed the idea based on his own teaching experience. This new approach is meant to help solve the continuation of common algebra errors and the lack of structural insight into expressions and equations. |
