Ari Fisher

In the past, Mr. Fisher provided instruction for: Bowling (KIN 1130), Basketball Skills (KIN 1406), Coaching Basketball (KIN 2516), Measurement and Evaluation in Kinesiology (KIN 3502), History of Kinesiology (KIN 2501), Aging/the Elderly (KIN 3605), and Sport Seminar (KIN 4515). Currently, he serves on the Kinesiology and College of Education awards committees, the Kinesiology undergraduate committee, and the Kinesiology teacher education committee. Additionally, Mr. Fisher has served as college coordinator for student teachers during their clinical experiences and certified students in the alternative certification program.
He was also the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach and Associate Athletic Director at University Lab School from 1997-2008. His teams won Louisiana High School Class AA State Championships in 2002 and 2004. He was selected district coach of the year four times (1998, 2002 – 2004) and state coach of the year in 2004. His 2004 team finished ranked # 17 nationally. He is the second youngest coach in Baton Rouge Prep History to coach a state championship team (31 in 2002). His teams have set numerous school records. Mr. Fisher also endowed the Harry Rabenhorst Memorial Scholarship in Kinesiology, awarded annually to a deserving student that would like to pursue a career in teaching and coaching. He is a member of LAHPERD and the Louisiana High School Coaching Association.
