|
Dr. Castle’s research areas branch into two separate but inter-related areas: development and validation of computer-based and other media that can be utilized to enhance student learning/retention in athletic training education; and predictors of students’ success on the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) Certification Examination. Dr. Castle has developed and validated several computer-based programs that have been utilized as treatment instruments in studies related to student learning, attitudes towards computer-based instruction, and predictors (grade point average, clinical hours, etc.) of student success on the NATABOC Certification Examination. Dr. Castle’s major teaching interests include: orthopedic assessment/evaluation; management/administration in athletic training; therapeutic modalities; legal aspects in healthcare and sports; and manual therapy techniques utilized in athletic training.
