Noelle Witherspoon

Dr. Noelle Witherspoon earned her PhD in Educational Administration from The University of Alabama with minors in Social Foundations of Education and Qualitative Research. She is joining the Administration and Counseling Leadership division in the Department of Educational Theory, Policy, and Practice as an Assistant Professor.
Witherspoon has been a classroom teacher, assistant principal and principal at the elementary level. She also served with the Alabama State Department of Education as a trainer with the Alabama Reading Initiative and as a regional reading consultantfor the Alabama Reading First Initiative.
Her research and teaching interests include leadership for social justice, religio-sprituality in educational leadership, principal preparation, womanist and feminist research methodologies, and the intersection of race and genderin educational leadership.
