Elecia Lathon
|
Elecia Lathon received her PhD in curriculum and instruction in 2005 from Louisiana State University. She has also earned an Educational Specialist degree and master’s degree in educational administration from the LSU College of Education. In 1993 she received her bachelor’s in speech pathology and audiology from Southern University.
Lathon joins the College of Education as an instructor in the Division of Secondary Education in the Department of Educational Theory, Policy, and Practice. Her research interests focus on teacher preparation, literacy practices in K-8 schools, minority achievement on high stakes tests, language and culture, and spirituality in education.
Lathon will be teaching courses in classroom culture and student development and diversity.
