Laura Jewett

Laura Jewett earned her PhD in curriculum theory from Louisiana State University. She is a Visiting Assistant Professor assigned to the College of Education, Office of the Dean.
Jewett’s primary research interests are curriculum theory, qualitative research, and multicultural education. Current research projects include putting curriculum theory to post-Katrina practice exploring the educational needs and experiences of displaced people living at Renaissance Village, the largest FEMA trailer park in Louisiana. Other ongoing research includes Program Evaluation for the Louisiana Workforce Commission Youth Programs and curriculum development and program evaluation for non-profit agencies serving at-risk youth.
Jewett leads the service-learning class EDUC 2000 in afterschool tutoring at Renaissance Village.
