Make a Gift to the College of Education: A Timeless Investment
Essential to the advancement of the College of
Education, the college’s development and alumni relations efforts have seen increases across the board by enhancing outreach to alumni through development activities and opportunities to volunteer with special projects. These activities create an environment that will assist College of Education faculty, staff, and students in achieving flagship status.
In June 2006, the Forever LSU Campaign announced a goal of $750 million, encouraging all friends and alumni of LSU to reconnect with their Tiger Spirit and to help LSU reach a new level of achievement as a university community.
Private, supplementary support for faculty, especially in the form of endowments for chairs and professorships, is vital. Endowments attract, encourage, and retain outstanding faculty and students by providing a tangible reward for merit. Endowed gifts permanently fund professorships and scholarships. Non-endowed gifts include those from corporations, corporate matches, individuals, royalties, and other sources.
The Education Excellence Fund supports many Forever LSU initiatives such as visiting scholars, classroom renovations, teaching, research, laboratory facilities, and upgrades in technology. It provides discretionary support for faculty and student programs, cutting-edge innovations, and partnerships aimed at improving education, health, and wellness throughout Louisiana and nationally. We also participate each spring in TigerTalk, the first-ever student telefund created by the LSU Foundation. TigerTalk provides meaningful contacts and two-way communication by employing more than 40 LSU students, placing approximately 2,800 calls per night, and averaging about 116 donations per day.
There are several ways to invest in the future. If you need any assistance or would like to discuss ways of investing, please contact our Director of Development Wayne Miller at 225-578-6384.
