ALUMNI & FRIENDS
As the Louisiana State University College of Education enters its second century, you may be proud of your legacy. We provide creative approaches to learning and promote outstanding faculty research. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to providing a broad understanding of education concepts and their application to schools, fitness and medical centers, business and industry, and a variety of health and educational settings.
On this page, you will find links to career services resources for alumni and students, volunteer opportunities, reunion and tour information, history, and current happenings. We hope you will visit us frequently to exchange information as your updates and feedback are very meaningful to us.
In addition to these Alumni & Friends pages, you will find throughout our college Web site much more information on the variety of our important and influential programs and initiatives. Just a few examples are:
- The French Heritage Project, which supports, enhances and helps improve the teaching of French and French cultures
- Cadaver-based anatomy courses which give our students an opportunity that fewer than 10% of United States athletic training degree programs offer, giving them a significant advantage in preparing for advanced studies and careers
- The LSU Writing Project, helping teachers in all subject areas and grade levels learn new ways to help students become accomplished writers and learners
- Research studies as varied as analysis of the impact of Hurricane Katrina on teachers and children, studies on teacher burnout, and the effect of Tai Chi on individuals with peripheral neuropathy
- The GEAR-UP program, using research-based best practices to decrease dropout rates and increase college acceptance rates of middle and high school students in low performing schools
You are our past and our future. Our Centennial Oak symbolizes growth, longevity, and the very heart of the LSU campus. From our canopy of oaks, each of you spread your branches as you remember your LSU roots. We trust your experiences in the LSU College of Education have helped form the foundation for a life of success and service. As we remember our inception in 1908, we look to you as the embodiment of the future and hope you will always remember us fondly…Forever , LSU! |
