BATON ROUGE – Higher Education doctoral candidate Patricia C. Kuhlman has received a Mid-South Educational Research Association 2011 Research in Progress Presentation Award for the paper she presented at the Mid-South Educational Research Association, or MSERA, annual meeting held in November in Oxford, Miss.

Kuhlman’s study grew out of her interest in developmental mathematics education and is based on a project she submitted for her first doctoral level statistics course with Eugene Kennedy, associate professor in the College of Education Department of Educational Theory, Policy and Practice.

“Tricia is an excellent student,” Kennedy said. “She has the potential to make many contributions to mathematics education at the post-secondary level.”

MSERA is a nonprofit incorporated educational organization whose purposes are to encourage quality educational research, to provide these research results to elementary schools and institutions of higher learning, and to promote the application of this research in Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana and Tennessee schools.
