Department of Kinesiology
Human Movement Science

Accreditation Status and Program Overview:
This concentration is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in the medical field, including physical therapy, physician’s assistant, occupational therapy, dentistry, and medicine, as well as advanced study in motor behavior. Students selecting this concentration are generally interested in post-baccalaureate study in a graduate or professional school.
Most allied health fields require some form of patient contact in a volunteer setting. Students in their junior year may enroll in the human movement science internship located at sites such as physical therapy and occupational therapy clinics, general practice or neurological, orthopedic and cardiac surgery centers. Our recently added cadaver lab provides dissection and pro-section opportunities to senior level students. Students, also, participate in research projects under the supervision of tenure/tenure track faculty.
Human Movement Science students have a high acceptance rate and continuous academic success in post graduate programs.
This concentration is, also, applicable for students desiring a career in pharmaceutical sales, medical equipment sales, or medical sales.
