Concentration in Athletic Training

Overview of the Pre-Professional (application) Phase

The pre-professional phase involves gaining practical experience working in the athletic training environment at LSU. The purpose of this experience is to help the student better understand the duties and responsibilities of an athletic trainer. This experience gives the student concrete information for deciding whether athletic training is the right profession for him or her. The pre-professional phase is open to any student interested in pursuing a degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training. The pre-professional phase involves a time commitment of at least 100 hours as a Pre-Professional Athletic Training Student in the LSU athletic training setting, and meeting other requirements as set forth by the Department of Kinesiology.
