It is possible to complete up to 12 hours as a non-matriculating student before being admitted into ETPP. However, only 6 hours of coursework at the 7000 level can be transferred into a graduate program.
What are the application deadlines?
Each semester, the LSU Graduate School establishes application deadlines. It is possible to apply and be admitted after the deadline, but students are charged late fees.
What does the review process entail?
Once the LSU Graduate School has received all of your documentation (transcripts, etc), they will forward your application to the Department of Educational Theory, Policy, and Practice (ETPP) for review by the professors in your specified program area.
The review time depends on how quickly we receive all of your application materials. Incomplete applications (such as those with less than three letters of recommendation) are not reviewed.
You can check the status of your application by contacting Ms. Lois Stewart at 225-578-6867 for EDCI applications, and Ms. Tara Stewart at 225-578-6900 for ELRC applications.
What do I need to do to transfer to ETPP from another university?
You may transfer up to 12 hours into a LSU Master’s program. The Program Leader for each content area will review an individual’s transcripts to determine which courses will count toward a degree in that program area. Please schedule appointments directly with the Program Leaders.
