The LSU Counselor Education program prepares students to function as professional counselors in a variety of human service settings such as schools, college counseling centers, mental health treatment facilities, and private practice. Graduates use their skills to help individuals, couples, and families enhance life adjustment, promote personal growth and wellness, and expand competencies in coping with environmental demands.
Two distinct programs are provided in the Counselor Education area: School Counseling and Community Counseling. Coursework may lead to certification and licensure. Both the School and Community Programs are accredited by CACREP through December 2008.
