LSU College of Education to realign into new

College of Human Sciences & Education

During the December 2011 LSU Board of Supervisors meeting, the board approved the university's proposal to realign six academic units to create the College of Human Sciences & Education.

The college will house approximately 117 faculty members, 17 undergraduate and 18 graduate degrees and have a budget of $11.5 million, excluding the lab school’s annual $10.7 million budget. Laura Lindsay, currently interim dean of the College of Education, will initially serve as the dean of the new college.

Six separate academic units were merged to form the new college:

School of Education

School of Kinesiology

School of Library & Information Science

School of Social Work

School of Human Resource Education and Workforce Development

University Laboratory School
